Everybody wants to become more consistent at golf but the reality is one of the hardest things to be consistent ah however. there are five tips in this video which are going to dramatically improve your consistency number one pre-game routine now if some weeks you're arriving at the golf club with five minutes to spare you jump out the car. And you head straight to the First Tee but then.
Other weeks you think well I'm gonna do two hours of practice today.
I'm going to really work hard. Or I'm playing a fancy golf course I've got to put more work in well straight away you're not being consistent with your pre-game routine try and stick to a certain time frame and that doesn't have to be a long time it might just be 20 minutes before you play to hit some balls in a net or to loosen up to spend five or ten minutes on the point in green and to get yourself settled and ready sometimes you have very small window it's not good and other times you can spend too much time practicing before around the golf. And that's also not good get a nice happy medium that you you can stick to every time you go out. And play number two be consistent with the ball you use now this doesn't mean you've got to go. And spend a fortune on the most premium golf on the market but find a golf ball you like that fits into your budget that you can be consistent to use every time because golf balls are different like they fly different they spin different they feel ever. So slightly different and I've got two golf balls and two different manufacturers here the performance could be vast so get consistent you've really got to make sure that using one golf ball and try and stick to it it's the one piece of equipment you hit on every single shot number three if you want to become more consistent you've got to make sure you know how far you consistently hit each Club in your bag not the best shot you've ever hit with your serving iron that went 170 yards you want to know the consistent number ideally spend a bit of time on a launch honestly if you can. Or even just go on an empty field and hit a bucket of balls and try and work out the distance of the group of balls you hit it's so important it really is leading on to that using measuring devices. Or even course planners out on the golf course so you can use a laser. Or even smart watches there's a lot now with golf GPS apps available on smart watches that are very very good. And even rangefinders like you'd have to spend a fortune on expensive range finders there's actually a lot of very good quality ones available on sites like Amazon I think if you again you want to be consistent you've got to know how far your hit shots consistently. And then.
You're out the golf course how far it is to your target. So important number four develop a consistent pre-shot routine something that you can do before you hit each shot week in week out that's repeatable this is really going to help you become consistent it's also going to help you play better on the pressure now. For me personally I'll run you through mine I tend to think about three boxes back here way behind the golf ball this is where I do all my thinking. So I've worked out my distance to the flag the wind conditions what club I'm going to use this all happens back here I then.
Take a step forward. And this is my field box like what do I want this shot to feel like what length swing what speed what tempo. And again I'm not overthinking it but I'm just trying to get that feeling and then.
Lastly I step into my play box this is where I'm ready to pull the trigger I've done all my thinking I know what it's going to feel like in here all I'm focusing on is Target what do I want the good what do I want this shot to look like I picture that in my brain. And then.
Hit and if you can develop that pre-shot routine it doesn't again need to take forever. But something you can repeat every single time you hit the ball before I come on to this final tip if you enjoyed this video be sure to like. And subscribe to the channel brand new videos coming out every single week now tip number five and it's very important this one you you want to become more consistent if you want to know that every time you step forward on the golf course you're going to give it your best shot I highly recommend golf lessons now these don't have to be each. And every week they can be maybe twice a year once every quarter it doesn't particularly matter. But just a checkup with a qualified PJ golf professional makes a huge difference even myself I will still take regular checkups with a swing coach. And even a short game coach just so I've got something to think about. And focus on lessons followed them by constructive practice will make a huge difference to your consistency it's five points. And if you can follow. And believe me when I say this you watching this video will be more consistent thanks. For watching stay tuned lots more to come and we'll see you next.
Time.
